You should remove the bubble and then re fit the arms. It is very easy to remove it and then you won't crack it. I would bet dollars to donuts that if you put any amount of stress on it you will be removing it anyway to replace it and that will be 10 times the work. remember when you decrease the bow all the holes that have been drilled in the bubble might not line up anymore and if the drilled holes aren't centered you might need to enlarge them so the washers don't bind. I use a step bit to drill the holes in the canopy and don't have to worry about it cracking because it isn't the bit that cracks the plexi it is the sudden grab by the bit and then it acts as a screw and that's what cracks it but a step bit can't grab because the next step is stopping it.

I installed my canopy last weekend from start to finish in 3 days with a outside air temp of 35 degrees and it was rolled for a year so these canopys aren't as delicate as you might think but don't get them in a bind or they will crack and that crack can propagate before you know it.

If you need any help feel free to give me a call 502-644-8123

I recently purchased a 601xl that was well built ,but the canopy does not fit well. I measured the rear canopy bow and it was more than 1078mm from side to side. that makes the latches miss. what is the best way to bend the bow with out breaking the canopy?. I thought about using a strap around the bow and ratchet it in or would it be better to try to remove the bow and then bend it. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
