Buz:

Thanks for the great work you are doing with spreading the knowledge around to the Lightning crowd. I wanted to respond to your question regarding the length of the newsletter. Understand that I am not complaining, but rather suggesting an alternate path.

I believe the newsletter should be very focused with a lesser number of pages, (around 8 and no more than 15).. For example, Vans NL is 20 pages, Zenith is around 12 pages every other month, and Murphy just posts an update on their web site every so often. The newsletter could center around one or two feature articles of moderate to short length, (not more than a page). If there is a longer article to publish, maybe hold it to one for that month. Any other updates like reports, or customer feedback could be limited to a paragraph. Better to have more comments in short blurbs than one or two longer comments. Ancillary information like safety, or flying tips and the like should be Lightning specific and held to small articles, a couple of paragraphs. I love the idea of featuring a customer aircraft each month, but limit the page space for it to a quarter page. These are just a couple of things that stand out in my mind.

I think if we optimize the space we are using we might find that the overall content stays about the same, but we cut the size of the newsletter in half.

Jim!

Hey Buz:
As usual, I am late in responding. I always have too much to do. I greatly appreciate your efforts at putting out a great news letter. It does seem to be getting longer, and must take a lot more of your time to write 25 - 28 pages than 8 - 15. Each an every one has been terrific as well as informative. I finally got time to re-balance my right tire/wheel and have gotten rid of most of my landing gear vibration.
I agree with Jim's comments on the size of the newsletter. I can understand how it must be difficult keeping it under control (there is so much good stuff to write about).
The Lightning is such a responsive light plane, I feel very fortunate that I was able to convince my wife to let me sell the Bonanza and build the Lightning. I would never be able to pull off the job you are doing and remain in awe as to your abilities.
Please keep it coming.
