I found some more bending of the vertical braces. I can't, for the life of me, figure out what makes it bend. The stub spar is rigidly attached to the horizontal and the horizontal is pretty stiff in that are. I can't picture how it would bend. I mocked up this donor plane I have and I can't see how it could possible bend . . . especially enough to deform those vertical braces. I'm getting close to having enough time to bond the new braces I designed into place. Calculations show the vertical braces to be 200% stiffer. Plus the material is a lot less prone to cracking; i.e., 5056-H3. The horizontal brace I designed is about 600% stronger. My parts have more in common with the original AA5 horizontal (forward) attachment than the later design.
I'm also using the donor plane to see if a tail dragger is feasible.
