Thought this item from the Kansas City fishwrap was of sufficient interest
to post on this list... Apparently the NTSB is requesting the FAA to immediately
ground all Zenith 601's... six in-flight breakups since 2006...the last one was March 09.
Flutter. ...a subject repeatedly discussed in connection with the faster Kolbs.

First thing that came to mind was those strange aileron hinges...

Beauford,  I took a look at those hinges after your post.  Don't think too much of that design.Matronics zenith list discusses the problem.
