I am finally finished the rebuild on my 601HD and have flown again after
2 years. The left wing is exceptionally heavy. I have changed to wing
incidence some and adjusted the aileron push rods. Both gave some
improvement but did not correct the problem. I temporarily placed a
fixed trim tab on the bottom of the right aileron and problem solved.
However I am considering adding an adjustable aileron tab. My plans do
not include drawings for this tab and I can find nothing on Zenith's
builder's page or Ch601.org that gives plans. Can someone that has
installed a tab on an HD or HDS contact me off-line as I have multiple
questions like how to install a MAC servo. dimensions of a tab and where
on the aileron to put it. I already have a MAC stick grip with buttons
for elevator trim and extras for the aileron trim.
Thanks for any help
Jerry

Jerry,
I've got a page on trim tabs and an electrical drawing of the wiring
necessary to make it work. Perhaps the pictures in the link
will help. The electrical drawing would help you with the
interconnections. This has worked well in my HDS.

Good luck,

Thank you far the reply. I see you used a trailing edge tab like I did

on the equator I know ZAC uses a tab set into the aileron. What Servo
did you use? RAC has several listed based on the throw (length of
travel) and I suspect the longer One (l-inch ) would work best.
External to The aileron would make retrofit alot more single.
