Ahhh, the fun with trying to form sheet metal with ratchet straps. Ive been off the build for a few months to work to support the project . Nice to be back in the shop and blogging again!
Appreciate any advice from my fellow listers on getting the wing nose skins to conform to nose ribs. Not as bad as horiz stab but still frustrating. Couple of questions
1) If the nose skin conforms to all nose ribs except for first rivet holes on ribs 2 & 5 (ones without slat brackets) and the skin overlaps the top skin by 15 - 17 mm (rather than the 20mm specified) am I correct to assume this is as good as it gets and just shim the first rivet holes on nose ribs 2 & 5 to avoid dimples?
2) The plans and videos show a number of different strapping plans. Are the straps suppose to go completely around wing or should ends be secured to table. If the latter, how do you get the 2x4 support under trailing edge not to move. (I did both - 6 straps anchored to table as in video and a couple extra completely around wing. Finally clamped 2x4 to table and had a couple of very large friends hold everything.
3) Do I dare ask without getting jealous if the new 750 kit has preformed metal to avoid these issues? I very close to ordering the kit as I may have a buyer for my 701.
Appreciate your help folks.

Hi Victor,
are you using the new pre-drilled nose skins?
My kits were older and i had to drill all the nose skin holes. i always had a full 20 mm overlap.
let us know.
