My last flight up here in the frozen north of ND was early December. Then it snowed and got below zero and my runway stayed closed all winter with 2 or 3 feet of snow.
FINALLY, believe it or not, the snow melted! After doing a 'mini annual' I took off yesterday and flew around an hour or so to get the feel of the machine again. I'd almost forgotten how much fun the little 701 was, so now with 8 hours left on my test time I have to seriously work on some V speeds and start adding weight to bring it up to gross weight, then repeat it all. After a few touch and goes, I flew it around in various configurations and airspeeds for a total of about 3 1/2 hours, enduring gusty cross winds near the end of the flight.
For all you builders out there, there is light at the end of the tunnel. And believe me, its worth it in the end! What a fun machine!

People wonder about us down here in Louisiana with hurricanes and flooding, I can’t imagine what flooding is like with freezing weather and frozen sand bags
Summer is almost here
Happy flying guys
