Everyone is cordially invited to the fourth annual Race To Ridgeland to be
held Saturday after next, 2 May. This years "R2R" will feature two races,
the Palmetto 125, a Sport Aircraft Racing League points event which will
launch at 0800 and the "Race To Ridgeland" itself which launches at 0900.
Our popular Spot Landing contest will start at 1200 and we are adding a
balloon busting event a little later in the day. Food, beverages,
T-shirts, and caps will all be available with the proceeds going to a local
church youth group. It is an official Civil Air Patrol event as well and a
number of Cadets will attend and assist with the event. The R2R is
sponsored by the Jasper County Aeronautics Commission and is supported by
local police, fire, and EMS units.
