I was reading the May '09 SPORT PILOT and on pg. 20 looked at the
picture of the Samba XXL. Okay now, don't get crazy but I wistfully
wondered if the XL would benefit from winglets like these. Also,
what's the difference between the current XL wingtip and the new
650? Maybe I need to clean my glasses. Enjoy the beautiful
weather (out here in Seattle).

As for the 650 I can't tell any difference in the wingtips and there isn't any difference mentioned on the Zenith site.

My XL came with a one piece fiberglass tip, which differs from the tip shown

in the XL plans. When I queried Zenith on this, they told me it was a
transitional part, and would be used on the 650.
It looks just like the old XL part. Zentith sent me a drawing of it, which I
may be able to find, if you are interested.

The new 650 wingtip is a one piece part......(601XL is 2 piece alu/fiberglass)

My 601xl kit arrived May 2008 and it has the one piece wing tips. Cheers
