I am looking for a way to keep my pilot's log electronically both on my Mac computer and my iPhone. Does anybody have any experience with the program(s) that offer both of these features? I don't mind the paper log, but it is a little hard to keep track of make/model time without keeping a mental note as-you-go.

I use http://www.forpilots.com/logbook/

However, it is a Windows only product, so would need to be able to run
one of the windows versions on your Mac. Don't know on iPhone. Many
of the GPS products and EFB products have an automatic time logging
feature.

I use Logten Pro... it's an excellent pilot's log and syncs with your iphone. You can enter your flights in either the iphone or the Mac application, and it has a lot of features around currency and other reminders. Also, if you are a commercial / ATP pilot there are a lot of features for tracking duty limits and such. It was built expressly for Mac, so there isn't a windows version as yet, and lastly the author of the software actively supports the product via email or the forums on his site.

(I'm not affiliated with the product other than being a happy user Wink

I've used LogTen Pro in the past, and it's a very complete logbook program. No problems keeping track of time in type or pretty much anything else you want. The iPhone app that goes with it is more limited and not worth the $$$, IMHO.

I am currently using SafeLog from Dauntless Aviation -- I have the Web version as well as the PC version (no Mac version yet, sad to say, but the Web version has 99% of the features of the PC version), and I *LOVE* it. It's actually MUCH more user friendly than LogTen Pro, and I've actually moved my entire logbook over to it now. The iPhone version of SafeLog is actually an iPhone-formatted web page, and it's okay (better than the LogTen Pro app, actually), but the need for an active web connection to use it is a bit of a pain. I like SafeLog enough that I've stopped using LogTen Pro, FWIW.

I just use Exel (spreadsheet). If you're familiar with it, it's easy enough to sort by aircraft type, hours last 12 months, etc. I so this at least once a year for the insurance questionaire.

Great responses. Thanks to all. I'm sure I have enough going on
there to get it done. Hopefully there will be a good a reliable and
reasonable off-line iPhone app for that soon.
