Any suggestions on the best place to watch a space shuttle launch?  Titusville, Cocoa Beach?  How is the auto traffic after the launch?

I went to a shuttle launch last year.  I watched it from Titusville at the North end of the strip.  That is the closest public area.  You can see the launch pad which is nice.  You can get a ticket and watch it from the NASA causeway – that is best but it is hard to get tickets (check NASA”s KFC web site).  

   

It was surprisingly easy.  I arrived 20 minutes before the launch (I had business in Orlando).  I walked 5 minutes to the water front.  Watched the launch, walked back to my car and drove back to Orlando.   I had more traffic delays in Orlando than in Titusville.  

   

I considered flying down and watching it from the air but the TFR is huge – goes out to Orlando. In any case, hearing it is part of the experience.
