Here's the good news some of you have been waiting for. I'm
forwarding Electroair's announcement of the availability and pricing
of their Direct Fire ignition system, using either one (eliminating
one Jabiru distributor and coil) or two (eliminating both Jabiru
distributors and coils) magnetic sensors and a trigger wheel.

Subject: Pricing for Jabiru Kits
Lynn-
Per our conversation from yesterday, we are pleased to announce
that we now have our kits completed and they will be available for
shipping by next week. The breakdown is as follows:
EIS-5 Single Ignition for Jabiru 2200 $1,300.00
EIS-5D Dual Ignition for Jabiru 2200 $2,225.00
EIS-6 Single Ignition for Jabiru 3300 $1,425.00
EIS-6D Dual Ignition for Jabiru 3300 $2,475.00
This ignitions come with all the parts required for installing a
Crank Shaft Trigger Wheel behind the prop flange, a bracket for
holding either one or two sensors (depending on the ignition), and
a shaft cover for the distributor shaft. Also included in the kits
are the controller(s), coil pack(s), spark plug wires, and
installation manual.
Lynn, your help with this project has been invaluable and we could
not have completed it without your input and willingness to make
your aircraft available. Josh will be in touch with you shortly to
review the installation manual and we'll be sending back your parts
shortly (I want to take some pictures using the accessory case).
You may forward this email as you see fit. We are at the point
where we can begin to take orders and start supplying Jabiru
ignition kits. I think this will be a great addition to our
product line.
Thanks again... I'm sure we'll talk soon.
Best Regards,
Michael Kobylik

Good work, Lynn. You're a great contributor to the experimental movement.

Thanks, Deke....by the way, I made it back up to the scene of the
crime (emergency landing last fall) near Frankenmuth. As I was
downwind for a landing there, I looked to the east, and there, big as
life, was the field I had put down in. Later on, I took one of the
participants of "the rescue" up for a flight, and let him hold the
stick while I took a picture. This high school lad was interested in
becoming a commercial pilot back in August, and Brian (my flight
instructor) told him to start getting flight instruction. He is now
ready for a solo. Not bad for 9 months training, while going to high
school....wish I'd gotten started back then. : )
