Hi, I am posting for a friend.
After a normal trip taxing back at low RPM the gen light came on as usual.
However, when taking the RPM up above 40% and up above over 60% later, the generator light remained on.
Anybody with any ideas?
regards

Put a meter on the generator with the engine running and slowly increase RPM and see what the generator output reads. This is the first step. After that, there is a whole lot of things that need to be checked, but this is the logical first step.

Aircraft type?
If Yak-52... it could be the breaker on the inside firewall near the middle. If you were in an over-volt situation it will trip the breaker. It is a push down type button. Push it down, and increase revs, if it trips again, then the voltage is exceeding 30 volts or so. Using the voltage adjust on the left side panel, you can reduce the max voltage. I have seen several aircraft that required the voltage adjuster to be removed and cleaned.
