Jim-

I do have limited experience with the Aero Carb, it came on a Franklin engine I recently purchased and installed 11 hrs ago -replacing an 0-200 by the way. The aero carb was very simple, looks great and is a modern design. I ground tested with it for 2 hrs but decided to install the old Marvel MA3 for the time being to get used to the Franklin. Did not want to much new stuff at a time. There was one drawback to the Aero Carb- it needs frequent mixture adjustment and close monitoring of EGT. With operator inattention the aero carb lets raw fuel out. This happens at idle if you don't quickly lean. This bothered me as the engine was new to me but I will install it soon and check it out in flight. I do like the expected lower fuel burn and modern design.

No there was nothing wrong with the 0-200 I just came across the Franklin, it was reasonable, I like to tinker and somebody wanted my 0-200 so I went for it, the Franklin had been fitted with high compression pistons and is supposedly making 130 HP. The HP gain seems correct as my Ivo Props pitch adjustment is now maxed out and I am still over redline, bigger prop in the works.

There was not much top speed gain, only 10 mph but I sure like the climbout and the low vibration.
