Need to know how/where to hook up the L and R P-lead wires from the tach. The instructions call for attachment at the ignition switch, but all I see is a harness going into the back of the ignition switch. Any help appreciated. BTW, I have the automotive spark plug conversion if it matters.

The P-leads are the wires from the mag switch not the ignition switch.

Follow marks comments on making sure they wires are grounded. But other
than that, the installation is very strait forward. It has been working for
me for over 500 hours on my CJ/M14P.

Bill,
Remove the screws holding the mag switch. Slide the mag switch forward. Next, remove the clamp holding the braided shielding. Remove the cover to expose the individual mag leads. Using an ohm meter, test the wire going to the magneto to confirm Mag 1 and Mag 2. Be sure the rear switch is in the 1+2 position when ohming out the contact to mag p-lead. The third wire is ground.

Thanks, I should have said mag switch not ignition switch.
It's going to be difficult. I took it off the panel today and there is next to no slack, could hardly pull it down enough to see the back let alone work on it, thanks for the info.

And while you have your mag switch apart take the time to clean the contacts (a pencil eraser works well), etc. Also, the metal face polishes up nicely...and we have really slick face plate placards in english to complete the look.

Regards,

Barry

Got it put in today and went for test flight. All is working well, no electrical interference with anything that I noticed. Very nice to have, thanks for your help.
