I am going to install metal covers for the holes in the gear wells on the plane. There are nut plates for the nose wheel so those are simple. I was going to use either Nutserts or Rivnuts for the mains. Does anybody have an opinion on which one is better? Also, would 6061 Aluminum be the choice or cad plated steel.

I used rivnuts and they worked pretty well. Spend the money for the good
tool, though. The cheap one ain't worth it.
