There is one other thing to look at. In the settings section of the Becker manual look at item 16. I imagine everyone is using powered mikes and not dynamic mikes, the dynamic mike input gain should be set to zero per the number 16 mode adjustment. This would show up in the side tone as random noise.

Agreed, but the wiring of the radio is different for dynamic and standard mikes. If a dynamic mike is sued, it is wired to Pin 5 of the connector (Dynamic mike in) versus pin 18 for a standard mike. So, I don't think the adjustment of the dynamic mike setting will affect the issue at all.

Craig,
I agree that the dynamic mike is wired to different pins, however the dynamic mike pins are still open to noise pickup. Reading through the Becker manual they recommend shutting down the dynamic gain even though it is not wired, hence the setting 16 adjustment.

Got it. Also, there is a side tone adjustment. Any suggestions on this?
