Just want to let the Lightning community know that our airplane's reputation is getting around. Last evening, I was at the Norfolk, VA airport for a seminar and encountered some friends who were there meeting the demo team for the Lancair Evolution (one of my acquaintances is buying one). They introduced me to the Lancair folks who brought the Evolution there and mentioned that I had built an airplane recently. When the Lancair folks asked what kind and I told them, their response was "That's a nice airplane and there are two good-looking ones in Atlanta."

Nick and I met the Evolution team last weekend at Winder (WDR). Interesting story - the Evolution had a wheels up landing at WDR during a demo flight. A factory crew came in and repaired in days.
Gear up is a problem we don't have.

Hi Earl,
I knew one of the planes had to be yours; the other was a mystery that is now solved! Thanks for the story on the Evolution; besides the retractable gear, their high price tag is also a problem we don't have!

We were in Atlanta over the weekend doing demo rides…they had that gear up there with the evolution and were flight testing the day we were there. Real nice folks. The 2 Lightnings were our LS-1 and world record Earls
