After several months of minimal building activity, & a year or more
since building the fuselage, I'm gearing up to install the tipup rear
window & aft top skin.
I haven't dimpled the skin yet, so I pulled out the small version of
drawing 40 to see how to dimple/countersink the area where the skin sits
on the F706 bulkhead & F732A brace. Detail G, and other drawings on the
page, show an angle brace, F732B. The actual piece I made a year or more
ago is a piece of flat 1/8" aluminum. After digging through the
instructions for a half-hour or so trying to find the directions for
building the part, I pulled out the full size drawing to see details a
bit better. Hmmm... *That* drawing detail G shows a flat piece of metal,
F732H. The two drawings have the same rev# & date.
I'm hoping that the 'H' means I'm good to go, but has anyone talked to
Van's about this?
Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie,
Perhaps you are confused because of the service bulletin (SB 05-1-1) on this intersection? See http://vansaircraft.com/pdf/sb05-1-1.pdf for the full details! If your plans are as old as mine, then they will not be correct - you'll have to refer to the document cited above.
I only remembered because the FAA is scheduled to come and do my final inspection this week and I added all of the service bulletins to the log book so I could show compliance. The FAA seems to like that level of detail!

Ahhh, yes, that's the ticket. The frustrating thing is that the 'old'
configuration is shown on the small drawing & the 'new' configuration is
shown on the large drawing, but both have exactly the same dates, file
names, etc in the data block.
Thanks,
Charlie
