Even my fingers are getting confused with too many colors:
60 minute hardener (yellow/brown)
30 minute hardener (red)
Q-cel
Expancel
Aeropoxy light
JB weld KWIK
Gray gelcoat
White gelcoat
Fiberglass
Anyway I was thinking about trying out some flat black spray guide coat purchased from Eastwood.
Question is after you apply it and sand most of it off, the black will be left behind to show low spots, do I need to sand off black in low spots and fill, or can I fill over black painted spot? perhaps scuff sand with scotchbright?
Thx.

Hi! Ron
I'm no paint specialist but.........so long as your guide coat is
compatible with your intended primer/undercoat/gloss coat it shouldn't
be necessry to remove it all, otherwise it negates the purpose of the
guide coat.

Ron
You need to remove the paint. If you put filler over the paint, the "bond" will be filler to paint, instead of filler to filler.
