The article in Sport Aviation this month that pointed to the dimpletape site has gotten me to thinking. However, I don't want to be stupid. Mike Palmer has used it on his Hartzell. Has anyone used it on the wing?
Does it work on a faster wing like ours or is it primarily for a high lift airfoil? Tom Hamilton chose our airfoil because it allows the air to stay attached a ways past the thick part of the chord, lowering drag at higher speeds. Should tape be applied further back than on a slower wing? Will it cause a loss of lift in rain? If anybody has thoughts on this I would appreciate the discussion. The tape is fairly inexpensive at 4.95 per foot. www.dimpletape.com
