I want to install the torque tube for the flaps but the instructions show matching the hinge up to the center of rotation on the tube.
Can I use the wing mounting bracket as a reference for the tube? How much error is ok to still allow the tube to work correctly?
Should I wait till after I drill the hole to mount the wing?

Thanx Don

Don,

If you need to drill the holes for the flap torque tube, you obviously don't have a quick build kit. Do you have the wing alignment jig ? If not, you will need to fab a short piece of .025" aluminum to simulate the rear wing spar (see drawing at upper left of Drawing 6-W-7. Rear Channel). That is the key to locating the center of the flap hinge pin; thus the center of the hole for the torque tube. See the drawing at the lower left of Drawing 6-W-1. Then look at the drawing at the upper right on Drawing 6-S-3 for vertical location of the wing rear spar. The spar attach plate will set the location horizontally. Let me know if you have questions.
