Having problems with background noise from 582 engine when transmitting. Is there a mic that will reduce or eliminate this noise?
Thanks, Jack [quote][b]

You can put a filter in line, remove any radio wires from other high energy out put and shield your radio wires.

Hi Jack,
I had that problem too in my trike for a while. I had placed the output coax of my radio too close to the intercom system. When I moved it 2-3 inches away, the interference stopped.

If the noise is coming in through the mic, turn down the mic gain and
talk loud. It sounds silly but it works really well to raise the
signal / noise ratio. It's not my idea but an old trick from open
cockpit days. Also you can buy larger foam muffs to go over the mic,
however they basically do the same thing - mechanically reducing the
mic gain so you have to talk louder.
