I have posted on Sportflight, a flyer announcing the 38th Annual All
You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast Fly-In and Cruise-In, held at the hangar
of the EAA Chapter 304, at Jackson County Airport, 3606 Wildwood
Avenue, Jackson Michigan, on June 11, 7 am to 3 pm.
The flyer can be seen at:

This would be a good time for Kitfox owners to get together and either
plan for our own fly-in or just say "here we all are, I guess this IS
our Michigan Kitfox Fly-In, so let's do it again next year!" What do
you all think? I'm not real big on organizing things, so if we ride on
the coattails of the existing, established (see 38th Annual...) fly-in,
we could splinter off next year and hold our 2nd Annual Michigan (or
Eastern, Central, Regional, National, World.....whatever it becomes)
Kitfox Fly-In somewhere to be named later.
This could be the start of something big...oops, that's plagarism...

Is there something to do all day or even something locally to see or do.

Well, there's airplane rides (big deal, eh?), helicopter rides, model
airplane display, classic, custom, street machines, hot rods, trucks &
motorcycles to look at, Car Awards at 2PM, DJ music, food
available....Meijers chain store within 2 miles....help, I'm running
out of ideas!
I'm trying to recall if the Cascades Illuminated Falls are up and
running that early in the calendar...it may not open until July 4...not
sure about that.
You can probably see some of the projects that the EAA chapter members
are working on.
Or like it says on the flyer: for more information call: John (at)(517)
750-4035 or Chuck (at)(517) 783-1066 (that'll teach 'em to put their
phone numbers on the flyer!)
Lynn
p.s. (if you let me know in advance, I'll bring my
pretty-good-looking P-40 model out to the show)

Just thinking, how long is this fly-in going to last. From the
suggestions, it looks like it will be sevaral days long and unfortunately
that will be out of my time budget.
The Cameron Park fly-in is a one day affair and in seven years I have never
even found time to count the airplanes. For me the opportunity to place
faces with names and see some of the airplanes is enough. Maybe I,m just
getting old, but just sitting around and talking is usually excitement
enough for me.
I do hope to be there if everything comes together here.

The fly-in itself is only the EAA pancake breakfast, which last from
7am to 11am, and then the lunch which is listed at Noon to 3pm. The
breakfast is served in the EAA hangar, so it is a rain-or-shine event.
All the rest of the activities are part of the "Cruise-in" portion of
the weekends' events, which are all held right at the airport, but away
from the runways. There is a camping area a couple hundred yards away
from, and across the road from, all the activities. My only
participation in the event was last year (I joined the Chapter in '04,
after that year's fly-in), and planes were coming and going all
day...no runways are shut down for the event, and it's not a very busy
'port anyway...Class D....come enjoy and leave your transponders at
home!
If nothing else gets your juices flowing, just the sight of our 4' x 8'
semi-automatic four-drops-at-a-time pancake grille would be worth the
flight across country, Lowell! Our Chapter 304 members made the grille
just for this event a few years back (our next project is an English
wheel).
I'm thinking that if enough Kitfoxes announce their intentions, I could
get us a parking area that would put us all together. It would be nice
to out-number the RV's that showed up last year about 6-8
strong....they flew in pretty much together, had b'fast, hung around a
bit, then left for another fly-in further up-state.
