Well, now that I found my Hartzell installation manual (!), there appears to be a need for a "special" tool that I don't have. Because the bolts for the prop require and "end-wrench" of sorts to tighten, it presents somewhat of a problem when trying to torque them. The manual shows an end-wrench looking thing that has the 7/16" on one end and a 3/8" drive on the other end. I looked though the Craftsman and Snapon web sites, but didn't find anything like this. Where might I buy one?
Thanks!

I don't know if this will help: Harbor Freight (or Sears etc)has
crowfoot wrenches (94426) and they're on sale right now.

You can cobble together an equivalent device. I used a very short
(about 3" long) combination wrench, a bolt, a washer and nut and some
duct tape. The washer is put over the bolt, then the nut is screwed
on tight. This is used to transfer the torque from the socket on the
torque wrench to the closed end of the combination wrench. Use some
duct tape to secure the socket, bolt, washer, nut and combination
wrench together. Of course you'll need to apply the standard
correction to the torque wrench setting to compensate for the extension.

Known as a Crow's foot wrench. Craftsman will work. There are folks that
sell lower cost "Hartzell" prop wrenches. Check Avery, Cleaveland, etc.

Matt,
I fiddled with the special tool problem for a long time and finally said the hell with it and bought one from Avery. One of those expensive tools that proved indispensible for the five minutes or so it took me to torque the prop bolts. If you can get to Inyokern (IYK) I’ll lend it to you; if you email me your home address I’ll mail it to you.

I'm curious - what was the special tool from Avery? Do you have an Avery part number? I'd like to see what it looks like. I just torqued my MT prop bolts and used a simple 3/8" SD crowfoot on the torque wrench.
