What is the easiest way to remove a wheel from the main gear to change tire?

Melvin,
I'm initially presuming the effort to raise the tire on a 601XL. A
C-clamp with a small jack will work if it's
done in the hangar. If it's unexpected on a trip, you may have to be
prepared with a C-Clamp and a scissor-jack
in your stowage. For HD series gear all wheels are easily removed with a
small jack and a bent bar with a T welded
to it. See link.

If you're in the boonies with a tire change needed with a HD series, you
might
find someone that wants to act as a jack with his legs, feet under the
spar. Ha!
