Hi Guys,

I am about to start my rebuilt O-200 for the first time. The Overhaul Manual calls for “Pre-oil the lubrication system using an external pre-oiling pressure system”. I don’t have one. What is the best way to ensure I have oil pressure if the motor magically starts on the first key?

Hi Guys,

I managed a milestone today in starting the engine for the first time. I
made up a pressure oiler and pressurised the system through the oil pressure
gauge output fitting. I also primed the oil pump through the filter housing.

A couple of turns and she was away. Pressure was up in seconds and managed
to get to 40 psi at around 1300rpm.

Not quite as smooth as the Corvair but all is good to go.
