It was just too nice after dinner not to take Zulu Delta up for another flight. The new radiator (off a Honda 750 Sabre, $20 on eBay) works perfectly. I climbed straight to 3500' to get some stall practice in and try to learn how to coordinate a turn again. Coolant temperature stayed at the top of the green the whole time, The Rotax radiators always made step climbs a necessity. I think the new pitot static system is giving much better numbers than it did. I'm seeing power off stall at 36. 5800 RPM gets me 70 MPH, Throttle back to 5200 and I get just a hair over 60.
Did a power off glide that was NOT straight out of the Space Shuttle POH like it was with the Rice King in the gear box.
Approach at 45 to 50 at 3500 RPM and chop power at the threshold. Settled right on to all three, but I was so busy I forgot to look at the ASI. Tomorrow it the thunderstorms hold off.
The only thing that doesn't work is the fuel gage, it just reads full and empty depending on whether it has power to it or not. Oh well, it came with the plane.
I love my trike, but there's just something about a Kolb.
