I finally got around to installing a spring on my throttle as Lowell had on his aircraft. It's a throttle return spring I bought from an auto parts store (about a foot long) It connects at the bellcrank where the throttle cable meets and extends back to the instrument panel. It is a "balancing" spring that counteracts the force of the two springs at the carbs. So no longer does my throttle slam forward when I accidentally hit the button on my Vernier throttle with my palm.( this has caused me to go around on more than a few occasions at a short airstrip) This is great !!!! Wish I would have done it sooner. If I need to, I can pop this spring off with my finger. I have it attached at the throttle quadrant thru an unused hole next to my throttle It's attached on the back of a black button that covers the hole so you can't even see it's there.
Thanks Lowell !!
