My 582 grayhead has the green antifreeze in it. Someone told me this is the wrong stuff to be using. I called Lockwood and they recommend rinsing it out and using Penzoil Dex-Cool, the orange stuff. The guy at the auto part store said only the yellow kind would mix ok with a motor that had been run with the green. If the remnants aren't boiled or steamed out, the orange and green would form a mud that could not be cleaned out.
Recommendations?

Flush the system out with distilled water and then change over. I did that with mine and I'm having zero problems.

What Rick said. Several years ago I bought a Camry with the green stuff in it and wanted to go to the silicate free coolant. Drained it, filled it with water, ran it, drained it, and then simply parked it next to the hangar and stuck the hose in it and let the car run while the hose was stick into the radiator so that the excess would overflow.
After a half hour I drained it, mixed it 50/50 and never had a moments problem. Surely the Camry has a lot more places for the old coolant to hide than your Rotax system.

Sounds reasonable enough to me.
Thanks!
