HDS people-
Out of curiosity, has anyone (Other than Larry Mac) actually measured their aileron cable tension? 20 lbs is too slack, 35 lbs creates too much side to side stick resistance for my liking. The old plans call for 30 lbs- 40 lbs.

Bill,
The old numbers (30 to 40 lbs) are way too much because of the excess
wear on bearing surfaces and deflection seen in the wing skins.
Perhaps the XL needs more for a longer span of cable, but I'd use guides
in that wing if necessary. The HD Series 601s don't have
any cable length that would suggest a need for more than 25 lbs, so
that's what I'd call a max tension. If you have 20 lbs, I'd call that
an easy minimum tension. When you begin tensioning, you'll see what I
mean for sure.

Bill,
I still haven't flown yet, so take this for what it's worth. I have mine set at 30 lbs.
