Hi all,

Last Thursday I sent some feedback on the new Arion website _privately_ (the
best way to do that, IMHO) to the Lightning info e-mail address and I see
today that the web site has been edited so that most everything of
consequence that I noted was addressed (and some things I overlooked.) I
belatedly note that some of my private criticisms weren't valid! (One of the
reasons not to send such things publicly! Smile)

About the only question I have remaining is whether Arion still offers the
BRS parachute as an option. At one time the old web site listed a price on
that option but it seems to have been dropped. Is that because nobody has
ever opted for it so it wasn't worthwhile offering anymore, or for some
other reason(s)?

I also noticed that the Green Landings web site has a draft Lightning POH
dated 2006 that really answers many questions in wonderful detail that a
prospect like myself would have (I know that many of the numbers will vary
with individual aircraft.) If it is possible, then perhaps it would make
sense to update any figures in it and place a copy of that document in the
Arion web site's support links (if a link to it is already there then my
apologies for overlooking it - it's a mistake I've already done a couple times!)

Between having the build manual and a POH online, there aren't many
questions I have left that are unanswered!

..well, the approximate dimensions of the baggage area weren't easy for me
to find (had to dig through the Matronics Lightning list archives to find
that info) but finally found them.

Regards,
Jim Logajan

Jim,

The BRS has been removed from the options list. If one wants one it can be
installed however we are not actively promoting the installation.
1. Very few who have built the Lighting opt for it.
2. It is very weight restrictive. You will loose all but a few pounds of the
baggage capacity.
3. Other than a mid air collision the BRS is only a last resort. The
Lightning has good stall manners for one who flies it correctly and uses
their feet. It also has very good spin manners as well, one thing that was
proven extensively during SLSA certification.

I will see if we can put a POH on line, I am sure it is not an issue.
