The large elevator on the Kitfox Model IV increases elevator authority with the use of flaps. I use flaps all the time and it does increase the nose up on landing. It also increases the stick pressure during flight, that is good because it matches the roll forces a little better. If you want to use it on a Model 3, probably won't work.

Thanks for the reply Clint. . . .
So, any input on how it works? Very Happy

Guy, I have not sealed the gap although I have read a little about it. A quick search has not yet turned up any stories about it or how to do it. Have you done it? Does it make a big enough difference as to not need the larger elevator? What was your method?

As always, thanks for the help.

If the plugs are black you must be really rich.

With at stock exhaust ( skystar chopped one - robs about 5 to 7 HP from you over stock Rotax exhaust, but you cannot fit a stock elbow inside your cowl) you should be ok at the 3 rd notch on clips with stock jets and needles ( 11G2) You are in Michigan and altitude should be ok with this. Once the temps get down below 40 to 50 F all the time you could go to the 4th notch (bottom on the needles)
You never said what static RPM you are getting? Prop pitch can make a huge differance.

Also Make sure your needle/clip have the O ring on it and put in in the slider first then the plastic piece or you will be very rich.

and make sure the oil pump line up marks are correct. I leaned mine out just a tad and got better plug color and performance. I do the same on all my snowmachines as well. I measure the gas put in the tank, and the oil put in, then figure the ratio and get it to match as close to 50:1 as possible. I know the pump actually gives closer to 100:1 at idle, but 99% of the time the engine is running in the 50:1 range so I set the adjustment accordingly.
