Well Jon cancelled my order for the CH750 videos. Well that totally ruins all respect for this guy. He is a real piece of work. I sell something that I bought from him that is brand new and unused, he wants me to just throw it away and waste the money that I worked to earn. Since I sell the new unused videos and reply to his rude and uncalled for comments he cancels my order. I must say he has a deep metal problem.

My two cents worth.. I have met Jon and his other half. They both seem nice, sincere and honest. If you bought the DVD's and paid for them then they are yours to do whatever you went. He does not need to support anyone but you for technical issues, but geez, these are DVD,s. He burns them, ships them, you watch them... How much product support is needed ???? In a business where profit margins are so tight cancelleing your order is petty at best and suicidal at worst.... Jon, did you really cancel his order? and why?

Jon,
I bought a couple of your videos and I am using them to scratch build my CH 750
I am building at EAA 96 's hangar in Compton Ca and have had quite a
bit of interest from and help from a few of the Young Eagles. I was
considering giving a talk at our monthly meeting and showing one of
the videos to the chapter to try and incite some interest to get
someone else to start building a CH 750. Now I am wondering if that is
ethical or not. I kind of see it as if I buy a movie and watch it with
my friends. I am not sure now, from you're point of view if that is
ethical.
What is your take?
My opinion on cancelling this gentleman's order is; what a shame and a
poor business decision. Finally, what kind of support are you talking
about? If I hit a wall the choices are Zenith, my tech advisers with
EAA and this list. I wouldn't even consider calling you, no offense
meant. I would call you if the DVD was defective and that is about it.
Thanks,
Joe Motis

Not to add fuel to the fire, but Ben said exactly what I was thinking-- I agree completely.

Hi Joe and all,
This is not the forum for some these issues, so this will be my last on this
topic.
David's order was not cancelled because of reselling videos. We have
communicated offline and I have offered to reinstate his order, his choice.
If you try to analyze the why and what was going on behind the scenes, you
do so at your own risk.
I am sure I could say this a dozen times and some would still miss it:
It is OK, legally and ethically to resell my DVDs. I never said different.
I did say that every resale loses a sale for me.
Nothing more, nothing less. And the lack of tech support for 2nd hand
purchasers: as Ben also states: its just a DVD, so support is not really an
issue. I do not disagree!
So, Joe... show to all the Eagle kids you want... that is a good thing! How
could it be otherwise? The more exposure the better. Thanks for the
publicity.
I was wrong in posting my original post. I was trying to appeal to the
sympathy chord for not re-selling videos as it truly hurts my business, more
than you think. (sympathy again). It wasnt aimed at an individual, and I
missed the mark on that one. Remember, once you have built your aircraft,
you have NO USE for these videos anymore - not the same as the screwdriver
or other tools you use. So, eventually, as you look for ways to get rid of
your DVDs, there will be a flood of these on the resale market as aircraft
are finished. My sales will virtually dissappear. Yes, I am selfishly
looking out for my hide. (sympathy). Never said I was a smart
businessman... just telling you like I see it. I realize now there were/are
smarter ways to deal with this issue than the way I presented it.
Back to building!
