Hi all C  Perhaps some of you remember that I had a bit of a misshap with my Avid MK IV last winter while landing on skis on my short strip.  I ended up going through the whole plane and recovered it in the proccess.  Here is a picture of what it looks like now.  I'll be taking it to the AnP next week for the annual conditional inspection and then she can once again take to the sky.  Take care C  Jim Chuk    Avids C Kitfox 4  Mn. Wow! Jim you've done a beautiful job. Very sharp looking. Which bush gear are you using?

Hi Paul C  thanks for the compliment.  The gear is just the standard Avid MK IV gear.  It is taller than the regular Avid and Kitfox gear though.  It isn't really any wider than the regular gear C although they do make a 14" wider gear also.  Take care C  Jim Chuk  Avids C Kitfox 4  Mn

Hi Jim-
Do you suppose the "taller, but no wider" gear had anything to do
with the ski mishap?

Nice restoration job, by the way...looks great.

Thanks everyone on the compliments on the plane.  And Pat C I suppose that white would blend in with the snow pretty well.  The red should stand out though.  Actually it was the color of the plane before I messed it up and I had some of that color for patches I did.  Take care C  Jim Chuk   Avids C Kitfox 4  Mn

Lynn C  as much as it would be nice to be able to blame the gear or something about the plane for the misshap C it was pretty much all my fault.  If the strip was longer C if I had been slower C if C if C if C  mostly C if I had gone around instead of trying to force it in things would have ended better.  Take care C  Jim Chuk   Avids C Kitfox 4 C  Mn
