Another Zenith 701 takes flight down under in Australia.
The scratch built plane took to the skies and completed a few circuits of the field today.

Beautifully done 701, your cowling is very interesting also. As a scratch built aircraft did you make the cowling and what kind of engine did you go with?

Rick the Cowling is a modified Savannah cowling. The motor is a Suzuki 1300 with the Raven Re - drive unit on it. It all so has the after market Links engine management computer fitted. This has been a bit of a challenge to setup but we have it in hand now.

I like the paint scheme. I have been seriously considering using the Suzuki 1.3L with the Raven Redrive as well. I bought the manual from Raven (Jeron?) and attended the builders forum while I was at Airventure in 2008. I've been looking for a low mileage engine to start tinkering with.
I know you've just started flying the plane, but please keep us posted on how the plane and engine perform.
I see that you are using the belly mounted radiator setup. Rick Roberts used that on his 701 and says that he has no cooing issues at all. How is it working in your plane?
