Jabiru Listers,
Is there (inverse or converse) relationship between if a CHT is low the EGT would be Highor vice versa a High CHT might result in a low EGT. In summary, I've been battling some highCHT's in my Bing Carbureated Jabiru 3300 and I'm getting very low on possible answers to solving my problems; ever since I retrofitted the economy tuning kit in my carby last March. Many of you have offered numerous solutions, which I have done and the results are a bit better but still not there. My #2 and #4 cylinders still rise like banshees on climb and in cruise I hover around 295- 300 degrees on #2 and 315-320 degree on #4.
Anyways, things just suck right now also due tothe fact that I built and fly a Zenith 601XL and it looks like we are all grounded.

1. You need to climb at 70 KCAS in order to create the proper pressure difference for cooling.
2. Cooling air should engulf the heads and the complete cylinders C top to bottom C and around C not just the top (lower baffles).
3. Any gap will increase the CHT.
4. There is some relation between CHT and EGT.
5. CHT balancing by upper baffles.
Complicated? You bet!

Jeff,
Step back, take a deep breath and look on the bright side of the 601 saga. There seem to be some weakness in the design that will be resolved in short order and you are alive and able to continue to address the issues with your "Experimental" aircraft. I know that does not help with the cooling issues that you are experimenting with but how about a long post of what you have tried, engine #, prop, jetting before the upgrade, was it cooling ok then...better worse etc. It would be helpful to see some pictures also. I am guessing that you have called Jabiru USA or Jabiru Pacific and talked to them directly about your cooling issues. How are your oil temp?
