My Kitfox II, 582 now has about 10 hours flight time. I have a few issues I
would welcome some advice on. First, my egt at nearly full power (typical
cruise rpm is 5800 rpm to get 70 knots airspeed) runs at 1200 on one
cylinder and 1100 on the other. I have visually adjusted the carb slides to
same setting, but havent tried balancing with a vacuum gauge. The water
temp is usually around 160. What adjustment would bring the egts in line?
Is the 100 degree differential significant?

My GSC 66 in. 3 blade prop is set for 10 degrees. Easily reaches 6800 rpm.
I am thinking of reaming the bolt bore to adjust to 11 or 12 degree pitch.
I have more than enough climb power now. What is the ideal pitch for the
GSC?

Plane is a blast to fly, but I am having to relearn rudder awareness to keep
the ball centered. Needs some left rudder pressure at all times so a trim
tab on the rudder may be needed. I have found the max flap setting at 23
degrees to be useless, 1/2 flaps is more than enough for really slow
landings. Kitfoxers in Flower Mound and Grand Prairie, I have lost your
addresses. EM me so we can go flying .

max TQ is around 6500. I pitch my prop for 6200-6250 on initial application of power. This gives me a take off and climb RPM of about 6450-6500 RPM. If I flatten the prop out anymore, I loose climb. Once in level flight, I back off to 57-5800 for about 72 MPH ground speed on floats.
Have you checked to make sure the needles are in the same position? Swap the EGT leads and see if the same side of the gage still reads high, or if if the high reading follows the EGT sender. I chased a ghost on a buddies plane and it turned out the sender was hosed up. If the connections that go into the adapter from the sender or the connections on the back of the gage get tweaked or the slightest amount of corrosion etc. they will give you goofy readings

Fist step would be to swap the sender wires and make sure the same cylinder is actually running hot (or colder).
