I wonder if anyone has a different reading on this. It seems that the only weak point anyone could really point out from the tests that Zenith had done was that at 6+G force, the main wing bolts and their holes were damaged although none failed.
With all the upgrade issues, shouldn't this be addressed? One could use higher grade bolts and a steel doubler plate or thick washers under the bolts. Then a much higher torque could be used and more of the stress could be transferred to the surface of the spar itself.
Does anyone know what the difference in strength numbers would be for this arrangement?
