Hello, Frans,

Thank you for your detailed reply re Mode S and ELT in your country.

Thank you also for the wonderful picture commentary that your wife Ilona has put onto the privatepilots.nl website – absolutely brilliant!

Best of luck with the test flying, when you get that under way; where will you keep your aircraft?

I will keep it at home, taking full use of the trailering ability of the
Europa, if that is what you wanted to know.

If you mean what my "home" airfield will be, well, it depends, again due
to the trailering ability of the Europa. There are two airports nearby:
EHHO, a friendly grass strip, but it has a tendency to turn into a swamp
during the wet season, and it has very restrictive opening times
10:00-19:00. (yep, another thing we have is that any airfield needs to
have a manned tower, even if it is a grass strip, and if it is "closed",
using it is a serious violation.) Then we have EHGG nearby, a paved
class-C airport. Apart from the obvious advantanges, it is quite
expensive. A landing is the equivalent of enough fuel for at least one
hour flying.
So, our policy will be that when we are getting out to fly, with the
Europa on its trailer behind the car, we will choose between these two
airports, depending on conditions and intentions. Most of the time this
will be EHHO.

Thanks,
Frans
