We are all going to soon need to replace our 121.5 MHZ ELTs with the newer 406 models. I bought an Ameri-King AK-450 two years ago based on their statetment at that time that they would have a 406 "conversion" available at a later date. I called about the "conversion" today and was told that the 406 unit was $849, but they would gladly give me $50 credit for my AK-450. I guess they define conversion as conversion from my pocket to theirs. Buyer beware!

Gee, I wonder if Ameri-King will give me $50 for my 7yr old 450 ELT?
Yes, the conversion option is just a funds-transfer, not a swap of innards.
