I got the instrument panel back from power coat and silkscreen today and I just couldn't wait to stick the instruments in to see what it looks like!

Sweet!!

I can hardly wait to get it mounted and powered back up!

Very impressive Matt. Your signature on the panel is a nice touch.

Matt, no disrespect intended, but with all those screens to look at and all
those buttons to push, when will you have time to "fly the airplane"?

Well, now, watching the Big Game isn't that impossible! Check out the attached photo. I have two Video-to-USB devices plugged into the left and right GRT HX units. I'm feeding video from the "Check-Six cam in the pilot's head rest, but the source could be anything. I'm just saying...

As far as "Cold Beer", there's plenty of room in the front baggage area! I wonder if I could squeeze a draft nozzle in the panel somewhere... You know I could. [smirk]

Matt,
Have you settled on a capture device for your cameras? I have
been looking for a small DVR type device that captures to removable
media and has a dedicated audio to capture comm but so far no luck.

I have looked at the Contour HD closely but I will need a remote on/off as I may mount cameras in places that will be impossible to get to in-flight. I have decided to go two different ways.

#1 was to purchase a couple of the Sony Webbers. They shot in 1080P HD, record to Memory Stick and are only $129.99. The rotating lens makes for easy positioning. I have also purchased a very cool RAM suction mount system for about $35.00.

I also decided to imbed some 560 line Sony style bullet cameras kind of like this:

They are about $100 but require a 12V power supply (easy ships power) and a DVR type device to record one or more video feeds. Because these are so small (thumb size) they can be placed many different places and because they are not the recording portion of the system I can see sticking them out in the breeze while the brains of the system in secure inside.
The additional benefit is I should have access to the DVR type device to turn on & off. With a the Webby and Contour HD you have to physically touch the camera to turn on & off. I expect much will be out of reach in a tandem aircraft. Including the ones mounted outside. This is why I have been looking for a single or multi source portable HD DVR.

Excellent source for Audiophile cables. I have several 50' HDMI cables
in my home. I think Best Buy wanted $225 each & I paid about $50.00.
Typical Staples cables that are $30.00 are $3.00-4.00 here.

http://www.cablewholesale.com/

Great customer service, fast shipping. They offer a 10% discount on any
web order with a discount code. The discount code I use is: as2522
If you create a free log in account and use the discount code once they
always apply the discount on future orders.

If for some reason that does not work just call them for a new code.

I saw that, but assumed the switch could be left on, battery removed, and input power controlled remotely.  Just a theory....

Nice find on the cables.
