Anyone getting flaky readings with the GRT EIS EGT probes? My number 4 failed at 200 hours (split in two inside the exhaust); reading was bouncing between 900 and 1100 degrees F. GRT replaced and that probe is OK but now EGT number 6 probe is bouncing between 500 and 700. GRT has sent another "higher quality/temperature" probe and I am about to install for number 6. In all my previous dealing with EGT and TIT probes they lasted 1000+ hours and were rated to about 1600 F. I am going to try the latest GRT probe and then start looking for an Alcore or GEM probe to replace all the GRT probes. CHT probes seem adequate, but EGTs fail early. My EGT probes are 2 - 2 1/2 inches below exhaust port. when working during cruise they always read between 1360 and 1410. During leaning they may reach 1430 for short periods of time (seconds).
