Hi all,
I've recently finished testing my 601-HDS and am looking forward to doing
some touring. I know that I can get avgas at small airfields all over
Australia whereas getting premium unleaded would mean taking fuel bladders
and buying from the nearest petrol station.
Can anyone there with experience on running a Subaru EA-81 on avgas let me
know what's involved, pitfalls etc? I know rotaxs seem to run on either.

HI Greg,
You can run the EA-81 on Avgas 100 LL or 87 octane with 10% ethanol
without any difficulty. The lead
in Avgas would suggest you change the oil every 30 hours to keep the
lead in 100 LL from damaging valves.
