I just had mine done at Twin Lakes ... they were very nice to work with and their price was 1/3 what Greensboro wanted to charge me.

Be aware that if you have a Garmin 330 transponder they require specialized equipment that not all testing stations have.

I've been wanting t try a pair of those. Have a Lightspeed Zulu, would consider Bose for the passenger (or me, if I like them better - doubtful w/o Bluetooth, but possible I would.) I will keep it in mind for now, Randy. They're a lot of coin at a time when I should be buying GOLD! from Gordon Liddy, etc.

Jim, I use Cardinal Air up at Asheboro Regional Airport

2 years ago the price they charged me for a VFR transponder check was $100. Service was fast and professional.

Twin Lakes (8A7) price list:
Rates for VFR & IFR:
VFR: $100.00 (1 transponder with mode A & C, 1 encoder).
IFR: $225.00 (1 transponder with mode A & C, 1 encoder, 1 altimeter)
IFR: $300.00 (1 transponder with mode A & C & S, 1 encoder, 1 altimeter)
Note: Mode S transponders require additional tests by specialized test equipment not found at all Repair Stations.
