So after a month and a half of waiting for the mail as well as the temps being in the teens and twenties my "new" propeller has arrived. So now I really want to get this thing put on and signed off so I can go enjoy the afternoon.
Can anyone tell me the mounting specifications for an IVO medium 3 blade being mounted as a 2 blade? I did a quick search and can't find the info. I want to be sure I am mounting it properly and everything is torqued accordingly. Thanks for the help.
James

Never mind, I called IVO and they have all the info on it's way in digits and hard copy.
Someone can delete this whole thread if they want.

James,
IVO medium as straight bolt on application.
on a 582 you can only sue 2 blades and use the 2 extra blocks that should be supplied.
Set Take off RPM for about 6200 to 6500 RPM STATIC and wide open tied down.
Also since temps are colder verify that your needles are adjusted full rich ( the clip should be on the lowest notch on your needles )
Stock needles will be marker 11G2 I think -------
Call me if you need help
PS i got the parcel you sent
many thanks.

Holy cow! In all of my time modifying cars, trucks, bikes, and anything else I could get my hands on I have never seen a single bolt on component that could so drastically improve performance. Admittedly my GSC needed a little more bite to it but I did not want to mess with that process, but my KF never cruised any faster then 65-70 and today I was cruising at 80, verified by GPS in multiple directions, at a lower RPM. All my temps are great and it even sounds a lot quieter/better tone. Take off role is about the same, 150 ft, and climb is about 2-300 fpm better. I think. I have trouble NOT doing a zoom climb to pattern altitude which is all the higher I ever get. I still need to take out a little pitch because I can barely get over 6200 in any configuration besides a dive so i expect take off to get a little shorter. More to come but for now I will say that the IVO is the best investment I have made for flying since I bought the plane.

James good stuff.
Like i said -start at 6200 to 6500 on the IVO static and adjust from there. You might even get away with going a bit more rpm.
What are you using for a Tach ? A tiny tach is cheap and accurate.
Glad to hear you finally un leased power to closer where it should be.

I took out a little pitch for today's flight and was pulling 6400 static. Take off was easily under 150' and doing a 3 point take off straight into a 55 mph climb yielded over 1000 fpm. I put half the pitch back after the flight because I had to throttle back during climb out and kept pushing 1200f. So hopefully I will be able to climb out at full throttle on the next flight. Even so, extended climbs throttled back to 5900-6000 were about 6-700 fpm. Still having a blast with this new prop.
