I actually attended the light sport expo and saw the Piper LSA. Its origins in the 601xl are open and apparent, but it is significantly upgraded all around. How it has made the weight is not readily observable. As to the spar, when the wing baggage lockers are opened, the spar is observable; and it is the same   Zenith structure with doublers at the wing roots. [quote][b]
