Kolbers,

Dug out the FireFly cold weather flying gear for snow duty. Four foot drift
in front of the garage door. I keep the Kubota backed into the garage so
that all I have to do is raise the door and plow out. Rotary snow plow is a
necessity, as the house is on a knoll and no matter which way the wind blows
there is a drift that blocks the drive to the road.

Right now I am getting more snow blowing time than flying time. We are
supposed to get a break for two or three days and then be in for it
again.

Jack H/Gang:

Great photo. I like that.

I also love snow. Wish I had my ATV out there to play.

Don't get me wrong though, I don't want to live in it full time, just when I
feel like it.

The weather at hauck's holler is windy, cold, grey, and wet. Been that way,
for the most part, since I got home from out West the day before
Thanksgiving.

I'd like to fly off snow with the mkIII. Would be another firt for me and
the Kolb.

We are no strangers to flying over snow fields, ice fields, glaciers, and
mountains, but never when the field was snowed in.

If someone paid me enough I'd go out flying tomorrow. I'm far enough north that the big storms don't quite make it.
Probably about 3-4" on the strip. Not enough to glue me down. In days of yore I flew all season long.
-Even with the wimpy heater an Aeronca had. Now I draw the line at about 50F.

The Kolb is at a neighbor's place, wings folded but still on, so it would take 20 minutes to go.
His strip is a bit shorter than mine so that would be another consideration.

Had to pull the dog off another possum two days ago before he did the big bite. I stuck him in a tree. (the possum that is)
Dog wasn't happy about that.

Heh heh heh!

We in Buffalo, the land of too much snow, are chuckling a bit with the blizzard down south of us. We got perhaps 1/2" of snow in the last day or so.
