I sent this for all of you builders. Just because you stay up late pounding that extra few rivets or bending that aluminum just right C make sure you brush and floss your teeth.

Some of you are more likely to change the engine oil at perfect time intervals C but brushing and flossing...Eh C tomorrow.

Heed my words...BRUSH YOUR TEETH!

My wife's stomach turned too when she saw what I do. I think the similarities in plane building and dentistry are fascinating.

This patient is going to be one happy camper when we are finished. We can make him better C stronger C faster...Steve Austin C bionic man stuff. He better keep his cheeks and lips out of the way of his teeth.

Cone beam radiography can record all this information of the implant positions in the jaw bone and can either mill a model with a CNC machine of the implants and jaw bone or can mill the restoration that will fit to those implants.

If I only had access to large equipment and plans for a Berkut aircraft I could resurrect the dead. Money and time of which I wish I had more of.

Unless you work on old planes, poorly maintained or poorly built…. I take light-hearted exception to the similarity between RV-10s and artistic dentistry pictures.

Now seeing the abuse airliners get each year…. that is more like periodontal disease and owner abuse over hours of operation.

Wow...I have a friend who is a Dentist and builds record breaking model hydroplanes... His machine work is eye watering...The crown he made for me is still going strong almost 20 years later...says a lot about attention to detail...I've followed your posts and pics John...needless to say your RV-10 will have the same craftsmanship..I always thought I would be a good Dentist...but then I see some poorly taken care of choppers...aka 'green rotted teeth" and I have second thoughts..about my ability to stomach that...great work, is that an implant tooth system?

Thanks Rick for the kind words.

You are lucky you found a good dentist...things have changed in this day an age of dentists who promote themselves through advertising and ridiculous reality television shows that resemble music videos. These vehicles say nothing about quality or longevity and cater to the want it yesterday crowd. Many of these dentist if they tried to build a plane it would fall apart before it got into the air. At 43, I know older dentists that still are doing it and doing it better than many of the people in my age group and younger.

That is what is so beautiful about these plane builds, not only does it take craftsmanship and intelligent, but persistence, and the where with all to see it to completion. It is contrary to the want it yesterday mentality of our culture. We builders are few and far between, like the last of the Jedi. It makes me want to build a plans built Long Ez from nothing other than drawings, foam, resin and glass fiber. Those folks were truly a special breed.

Those photos were showing a stage in the process of implant retained dentures were the bar stays in the mouth and the denture clips into it.

As for poorly build aircraft that John Cox was referring(periodontal disease) vs the RV10: It is refurbishment with new technology in old aircraft. Some might ask whether such an aircraft project is worth it. With health care that is rarely debated especially if you are the one the work is for. They have few choices left for all those years of forgetting to take care of themselves. But then that is what is helping me to pay for my plane. Weird world.

All you builder, congratulation to you for seeing the joy in the journey and forgoing the easy want it yesterday way of life. Keep pluggin!

Got mine cleaned this AM. Your wake-up pics are sending me back to the build process on the RV-10. Both technologies are worth the investment. Build it for life, maintain it to last forever! Both smiles can be considered priceless.
