Hi GroupI was reading tonight 914 Maintenance manual revised May-01-2007 page 76-00-00.The mention with newer TCU that airbox pressure at between 110 to 115% will be 40.5" Mercury. OK from what I understand after you go through carbs MP will be ~ 1" less with high power settings, so that kinda sorta makes sense. Between 100 to 108% airbox pressure will be 36" Mercury. Again subtract 1" for carb drop at a high power setting and that seems reasonable. Now for my problem making sense of it all. At idle they say airbox pressure will be 44.3" Mercury. Boy that seems to be a lot. Perhaps it really is that high and at idle there would be a lot of restriction going through butterfly thus you would have a much lower MP, but not quite sure. If it is so and truly that high I think compared to older style TCU which has much less airbox pressure at idle the newer style would be much more better at preventing carb ice at low throttle settings??Can anyone shed a bit more light?Thx.Ron Parigoris [quote][b]
